Four Georgia children are getting a head start on their future education savings. The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) and Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan today announced the winners of the annual Path from Pre-K to College Sweepstakes.

Each of the four winners — representing Metro Atlanta, North Georgia, Southeast Georgia, and South Georgia — will receive a $1,529 contribution toward a Path2College savings account. In addition, each child’s Pre-K program will also receive $1,529 to support early learning initiatives.

Path from Pre-K to College Sweepstakes winners are from:
  • Duncan Creek Academy, Auburn, GA
  • Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, Clayton, GA
  • Scott Elementary School, Thomasville, GA
  • Sallie Zetterower Elementary School, Newington, GA

Since launching the sweepstakes in 2018, DECAL and Path2College have partnered to encourage families to begin saving early for future education expenses. To date, more than $81,000 has been awarded to Pre-K students and schools across Georgia. Funds in a Path2College account can be used for a wide range of education-related expenses, including college, technical school, qualified apprenticeships, and certain K–12 costs. *

“Starting early can change the trajectory for families,” said Georgia State Treasurer Steve McCoy. “When parents are introduced to college savings during the Pre-K years, it builds awareness, confidence, and momentum that can carry through a child’s entire educational journey. Our partnership with DECAL highlights how powerful it can be when families start planning early.”

“These early moments matter — not just for learning, but for shaping what families believe is possible,” said DECAL Commissioner Amy M. Jacobs. “By connecting Pre-K families with tools like Path2College, we’re helping make future education part of the conversation from the very beginning.”
