UWG Wins Regents Cup; Valdosta State Student Named Individual Debate Champion
The University of West Georgia (UWG) debate team on Wednesday captured the University System of Georgia’s (USG) third annual Regents Cup Debate Series trophy, while Cassandra Ayers of Valdosta State University (VSU) earned top honors as the tournament’s individual debate champion.

Georgia Labor Force and Employment Hit Record Highs
The Georgia Department of Labor announced today that in February Georgia’s labor force and employment rose to all-time highs of 5.45 million and 5.25 million, respectively. The February unemployment rate was 3.6%, which is 0.8 percentage point lower than the national unemployment rate and 0.2 percentage point higher than Georgia’s rate one year ago.
