Christian City to Reopen Community Thrift Store Saturday!
Friday, October 31st, 2025
Christian City will celebrate the grand reopening of its Graceland Thrift Store on Saturday, November 1, following a major renovation to enhance the shopping experience for customers and community members.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 9:50 a.m., just before the store officially opens to the public at 10 a.m. Media are invited to attend and capture the event, which will include photo opportunities with Christian City leadership, staff, and artist Arshaad Norwood, who created the new mural featured on the store’s exterior.
Located on Christian City’s 500-acre campus in Union City, Graceland has long been a favorite shopping destination known for its high-quality thrift finds and mission-driven purpose. The store’s proceeds directly support Christian City’s work serving children, families, and older adults through housing, counseling, and life-changing programs.
The store’s revitalization includes new fixtures, refreshed interiors, and improved layout to better serve both shoppers and donors. The mural by Norwood, who grew up in foster care at Christian City’s Children’s Village—celebrates hope, transformation, and community, symbolizing the organization’s 60 years of impact.
