Today, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper announced a new initiative in celebration of America’s upcoming 250th Anniversary on July 4th, 2026. As part of the national celebration of America250, Georgia Grown will honor the more than 7,000 members of Georgia’s agriculture industry who have served in the U.S. Military with the Georgia Grown Veterans Spotlight. Photo and video submissions from Georgia’s veteran farmers will be featured on the digital video boards throughout the Georgia Grown building at the Georgia National Fair.

“We are incredibly proud to highlight the service, sacrifice, and contributions of our state’s veteran farmers to Georgia’s #1 industry and our nation,” said Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper. “I want to encourage all Georgia veterans who are actively engaged in agriculture to share their stories as we reflect and celebrate America250.”

Submissions may be featured on Georgia Department of Agriculture social media channels and showcased in the Georgia Grown building during the Georgia National Fair this October. Veterans who are Georgia producers are encouraged to complete the online submission form by September 26th, 2025.
