The various ways Chick-fil-A Shared Table is activated by local Owner-Operators and community partners

At Chick-fil-A, our mission goes beyond serving meals—we’re committed to being present in the communities we serve. Chick-fil-A Shared Table® is a program that helps Chick-fil-A Owner-Operators fight food insecurity in their local communities by donating surplus food to local soup kitchens, shelters and nonprofits to feed those in need.

From coast to coast, this network of care is turning everyday ingredients into meaningful nourishment. Here’s a look at how the program is making a difference in several cities across the U.S.

Chicago: A Market-Wide Commitment to Fighting Hunger
In the Chicago area, the commitment to community is shared across all 56 Chick-fil-A restaurants, which have a 100% participation rate in the Shared Table program. By partnering with local organizations like St. Vincent de Paul Pantry and Morning Star Mission, these restaurants are turning surplus food into a lifeline for many.

“Food is such a simple but powerful way to welcome, encourage and care for people,” says Kareem Edwards, local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A South Loop. “Our team has seen images of the final meals created from our donations, and they feel a real sense of pride knowing they’re helping their own community.”

The program has become a vital resource, transforming surplus food into hundreds of thousands of meals.

“I’m grateful to Chick-fil-A for partnering with us and allowing us to help service the community in this way,” says Kevin Glover, Vice President of Joseph Dreamhouse. “It creates a type of synergy that we can all benefit from.”
