Georgia DOT Seeks Public Input on the Amended Statewide Transportation Improvement Program
Wednesday, September 25th, 2024
The Georgia Department of Transportation proposes to amend the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 portion of the FY 2024 – 2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The STIP is Georgia’s four-year transportation and capital improvements program. The STIP lists federally funded transportation projects that are located outside Metropolitan Transportation Organization (MPO) boundaries.
This amendment is being done to redemonstrate fiscal constraint for FY 2025 and also reflect any project phase changes that have occurred since the current STIP’s joint approval by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) on October 20, 2023.
Along with seeking input on the FY 2025 STIP Amendment, Georgia DOT is informing the public of projects awarded through various discretionary grants and those awarded by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division (EFLHD) which will be amended into an appendix of the current STIP for reference. Any public comments received for these projects will be shared with the project sponsor(s).
The comment period is currently open, and the public is encouraged to comment through September 30, 2024. The public is encouraged to share their thoughts on the materials included as part of the proposed FY 2025 STIP amendment.
