Newnan Presbyterian Church has announced a generous gift of $135,000 to the Coweta Samaritan Clinic’s “Enhancing and Expanding Care” fundraising campaign. This gift will fund dental equipment and furnishings for the Clinic’s three dental operatories and support areas in its new Dental Services Wing.

“Newnan Presbyterian Church has been a supporter of the Coweta Samaritan Clinic since its inception,” said Rev. David Jones, II, Newnan Presbyterian Church pastor. “Our church is committed to the idea supported in the 25th chapter of Matthew's Gospel that followers of Christ are called to take care of the sick. With mounting evidence linking overall human health to dental health, NPC is delighted to offer significant financial support to the expansion and improvement of the Clinic's ability to focus on the dental care of Coweta citizens who live on the margins of our healthcare system.”

Newnan Presbyterian is offering this gift in conjunction with their own Bicentennial Celebration. The church is committed to improving its own facilities, but also as a part of their fundraising efforts, they have committed to tithe their fundraising to the Clinic as a way of strengthening their partnership with the area that God has called them to serve these past 200 years.

This gift to the Coweta Samaritan Clinic brings the organization one step closer to its $650,000 fundraising goal to renovate its existing space.

“Our Newnan Presbyterian Church friends have been incredibly gracious and supportive of us since day one,” said Kay Crosby, M.D, Clinic founder, chairman, and volunteer medical director. “Our vision to better serve our patients through expanded dental services is one we have been excited about for quite some time. To be able to provide basic and restorative dental services within our existing building will be a huge benefit for our community. Our hearts are tremendously grateful to Newnan Presbyterian, its leaders, and its congregation for being part of this incredible ministry we are so privileged to provide our patients.”

The Clinic has completed the first phase of its project, replacing outdated HVAC systems and updating lighting throughout the building. It is currently in phase two of construction to renovate the Clinic’s North and South Halls, including patient exam rooms and other patient-facing areas such as patient screening and social work offices.

The Coweta Samaritan Clinic relies solely on community contributions to operate, and this one-time fundraising campaign is separate from its annual fundraising. The community is invited to be part of this crucial effort to improve the lives of Coweta County residents.
