At the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Congressional Luncheon held on August 8th, Governor Brian Kemp advocated for crucial reforms to Georgia’s civil justice system. Kemp emphasized the need to rectify the current one-sided laws which encourage frivolous lawsuits, create excessive legal costs, and inflate jury verdicts. Georgia's current lawsuit environment escalates prices for our state’s goods, services, and insurance rates, affecting both businesses and consumers.
 
“Our judicial system should not favor one party over the other,” said Governor Kemp. “Our laws should not put their thumb on the scale for the accused or the accuser, and our business environment should help businesses start, operate, and grow – not incentivize higher prices, smaller payrolls, and more red tape.”
