The Panther Pride has a new leader with the announcement of Amanda Cavin as the new principal at Peachtree City Elementary.

Cavin comes from Henry County where she has been the principal at Ola Elementary since July 2019.

“Peachtree City Elementary's strong sense of community, where relationships and high expectations are prioritized, is most appealing to me,” said Cavin. “The school's neighborhood feel, where teachers, staff, and families live, work, and play in the same community, is precisely what my family and I have been looking for in an area to call home. We are excited to be involved in the lives of our students on and off campus!”

Cavin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education/Special Education from Samford University and a Master of Education in Special Education from the University of Georgia. She earned her Specialist in Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College and her Tier II Leadership Certification from Georgia State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Georgia.

Cavin’s journey in education began with the Clayton County Board of Education for one year. She has worked with the Henry County Board of Education since 2004. From 2004-2018, she was at Unity Grove Elementary, first as a teacher, then as an assistant principal. In the 2018-2019 school year, she was an assistant principal at Austin Road Elementary. Since July 2019, Cavin has been the principal at Ola Elementary.

Cavin was confirmed as Peachtree City Elementary’s new principal at the March 13 Board of Education meeting. She succeeds Dr. Kristin Berryman, who is retiring.

“As principal, I plan to continue the tradition of excellence for which Peachtree City is known by learning with and from our phenomenal teachers, engaging with families, and building relationships with our students,” said Cavin. “It is such an honor to have been chosen to lead alongside an outstanding team of educators within this unique community.”
