The Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta is now accepting scholarship applications from Georgia nonprofit leaders to attend HBS Social Enterprise Executive Education programs in 2023. Scholarships include full tuition, room, board, and airfare, if applicable. Scholarships are being offered for two programs specifically tailored to nonprofit organizations and social enterprises:

Driving Nonprofit Performance and Innovation—Virtual (DNPIV), for senior nonprofit leaders responsible for performance measurement. The DNPIV program enables nonprofit leaders to address the challenging work of measuring the performance of nonprofit organizations. This program focuses on aligning mission and strategy through performance measurement, with sessions on innovation and organizational learning, generating evidence about an intervention's effectiveness, building a culture of performance measurement, and managing for collective impact. The program will take place live and online over six half days: Thursday, April 20 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM Eastern Time (ET), and Monday, April 24 through Friday, April 28 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM ET daily. Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management (SPNM), for nonprofit CEOs and executive directors, in-person on the HBS campus July 9 to 15. Tailored to nonprofit executive directors and CEOs, this program explores mastering nonprofit leadership in uncertain times. Through SPNM, participants develop a strategic outlook to improve the effectiveness of their organizations by understanding core management concepts, applying these concepts strategically, and learning how to implement change within their organizations. These programs provide a unique opportunity for nonprofit leaders to step back from their day-to-day roles, share experiences and insights with peers and HBS faculty, and explore proven ways for their organizations to achieve high performance. Participants have the opportunity to connect with nonprofit leaders from a broad range of sectors and geographies, with over a third of participants in each program coming from outside of the United States. Participants are able to immediately apply concepts and skills from the programs, and many maintain the network and sounding board they have developed within their cohort after the program.

Key qualification criteria for selection are as follows:
• For SPMN, candidates must be nonprofit CEOs or Executive Directors and responsible for shaping the direction, mission, policies, and major programs of their organizations; and have at least 10 years of professional work experience.
• For DNPIV, candidates must be senior nonprofit leaders responsible for implementing effective performance measurement and management in their organizations. Roles can include CEO, ED, board member, COO, CFO, CIO, and others.
• The organization should have at least 5 full time employees, an operating budget of at least $1 million, and substantial operations in Georgia.
• The organization should have been fully operational for one year and be out of the start-up phase.
• The applicant must work for a nonprofit organization serving the community-at-large. It may not be a member-serving organization, such as an industry or trade association. If it is a program within a religious organization, it must be open to all faiths.
• The organization must have a demonstrated and broad impact on the community, an experienced management team, opportunities and challenges that the program will help address, and the commitment to take advantage of the experience offered at Harvard.
• The individual must have a desire to improve his/her personal skills and performance, be capable of performing well in a rigorous classroom environment, and meet the criteria for acceptance by Harvard Business School's Executive Education Program.
Candidates will be evaluated based on their ability to impact both the organization and community. Preference will be given to applicants from nonprofit organizations that have not been represented at HBS Social Enterprise Executive Education programs within the last three years.
