The Southeastern Credit Union Foundation (SECUF), the charitable arm of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU), is thrilled to announce that the Community Spark Scholarship is now accepting applications for the 2023 – 2024 school year. This scholarship is open to all credit union members, the public, and family of credit union staff in Alabama and Georgia. 

“We are so excited to be able to grow the Community Spark program and provide future opportunities for underprivileged youth who are interested in furthering their education and hopefully becoming a part of the credit union community, said Bobbi Grady, Foundation Director. “These scholarships make a difference between a student completing their education and advancing in the credit union industry and a student not being able to attend a college or university in the first place. We look forward to assisting the next graduating class of students in fulfilling their dreams of furthering their education.”

The Community Spark Scholarship provides financial assistance to underrepresented and/or first-generation college students in Alabama or Georgia interested in a post-college career within the credit union industry, including majors in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, and Information Technology. Once applicants are selected, the SECUF will disburse a minimum of two $10,000 scholarships to students planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university in Alabama or Georgia.
