The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) released the list of schools identified to receive Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) for 2022-2023. Of the almost 60 Richmond County schools and programs, ten schools were designated to receive CSI and five schools were designated to receive TSI.

“The challenges of the last few years have required us all to work together for the academic growth of our students. Over the last year, our school system has invested in training for our teachers, new textbooks, technology access and support resources to help our children succeed. We know that all our schools are making progress to advance student learning and achievement,” said Dr. Kenneth Bradshaw, Superintendent of Richmond County School System.

The state also released a list of schools that were designated to receive state support in 2019-2020 as TSI that have made the improvements needed to exit CSI or TSI status.  Four Richmond County Schools successfully met the requirements to exit CSI or TSI statue: Terrace Manor Elementary School, The Academy of Richmond County, Goshen Elementary and Tobacco Road Elementary.

“Results in our four schools that successfully exited the CSI or TSI designation show that strong collaboration between the school, families, community and partners like GaDOE make a positive impact in our classrooms. With the support of our families, GaDOE partners and community, our students will continue to build upon their achievement gains,” said Bradshaw of the schools’ success.
