Record $2.04B Powerball Jackpot Run Generates $41.1M for Education, $15.2M in Prizes in Georgia

While a single ticket sold in California won a Powerball jackpot worth $2.04 billion ($997.6 million cash option) in the delayed Monday, Nov. 7 drawing, Georgia’s students and Georgia Lottery players also won big.
Due to a technical issue, the Powerball drawing was delayed Monday night and performed this morning at 8:57 a.m. EST at the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee.
Winning numbers were white balls 10, 33, 41, 47, 56 and red Powerball 10. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.
In Georgia, a $1 million prize was won at Exxon Food Mart, 49 Hurricane Shoals Road NW, Lawrenceville. A $100,000 winning ticket was sold at BP Food Mart, 2890 Lawrenceville Suwanee Road, Suwanee. Three tickets won $50,000 each with tickets purchased at: Quick Stop, 2775 Antioch Road, Cumming; QuikTrip #0829, 3353 Camp Road, Jasper; and Mygalottery.com.

Since the current jackpot run began with the Aug. 6 drawing, Powerball has generated approximately $41.1 million for the Georgia Lottery-funded HOPE Scholarship and Pre-K programs.
In addition, Georgia Lottery players have won approximately $15.2 million in Powerball prizes since the jackpot began growing in August.
During the jackpot run, large Powerball prizes won in Georgia include: four $1 million prizes (Brunswick, Evans, Lawrenceville, and MyGalottery.com); one $200,000 prize (Tallapoosa); one $150,000 prize (Columbus); four $100,000 prizes (Columbus (2), Suwanee, and Mygalottery.com); and 44 $50,000 prizes (Alpharetta (3), Athens, Atlanta (2), Braselton, Bremen (2), Carrollton, Cumming (3), Dalton, Decatur, Douglasville, Ellenwood, Hull, Jasper, Jonesboro, Kennesaw, Lawrenceville, Macon, Marietta (2), McDonough, Milledgeville (2), Pearson, Pooler, Roberta, Rocky Face, Savannah (2), Thomaston, Villa Rica, Watkinsville, West Point, Woodstock, and Mygalottery.com (5)).
The Powerball jackpot that grew for three months was won on the 41st draw of the jackpot run. Final ticket sales pushed the jackpot beyond its earlier estimate to $2.04 billion at the time of the drawing, making it the world’s largest lottery prize ever won.
The Powerball drawing scheduled for Monday, November 7, 2022, was delayed due to one participating lottery needing additional time to process its sales and play data. As soon as the required pre-draw procedures were securely completed by the one outstanding lottery, the drawing proceeded.

Powerball winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
