Wednesday, October 12th, 2022
Colony Bank today announced its expansion of banking solutions with the addition of Colony One Checking – a checking account aimed at ensuring low cost, high functionality, and consumer safety. In addition, Colony One was officially certified by the national Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund) as meeting the Bank On National Account Standards (2021 - 2022).
“At Colony Bank, we realize that we have a large role and responsibility in creating greater financial inclusion in our local communities. The addition of Colony One Checking represents our commitment to this initiative. We look forward to offering this new checking solution as we help our customers build a stronger financial future,” said Reagan Miller, Chief Retail Officer.
The Colony One Checking account features no monthly service charge, no overdraft or non-sufficient fund fees, the ability to pay bills and make purchases, and federal deposit insurance. This product and more are available at any of our convenient Colony Bank banking centers across the state.
The goal of Bank On is to ensure that everyone has access to safe and affordable financial products and services. The Bank On National Account Standards identifies critical product features for appropriate bank or credit union accounts, making it easier for local coalitions across the country to connect consumers to accounts that meet their needs.
“The Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund is delighted to award its national Bank On account certification to Colony Bank‘s Colony One Checking,” said Jonathan Mintz, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund. “Colony One offers residents in Colony’s statewide footprint who are looking to improve their finances a safe, affordable, and truly useful mainstream banking product to access and manage their money. Colony Bank‘s offering of this terrific account brings them into the forefront of national banking access efforts, and we thank them.”
