In preparation for the November 2022 General Election, Secretary of State Elections Division staff participated in Tabletop the Vote 2022: National Election Exercise in partnership with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Association of State Election Directors. The purpose of this exercise, in conjunction with State of Georgia IT personnel and elections officials throughout the state was to identify best practices and areas of opportunity in incident management, response, and recovery in real-world, elections-oriented scenarios.

Georgia officials met in-person and participated in roundtable discussions with state and federal officials across the country, sharing actionable examples of potential threats and challenges in an effort to explore the impacts to election administration, voter confidence, and election integrity.

“Preparation is key in combating threats to our election infrastructure,” said Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. “By partnering with state and federal stakeholders, we’re able to better pool resources, gain actionable insight into what’s happening in other states, and respond to threats before they even occur.”

The Georgia Secretary of State’s office continues to proactively prepare for the November 2022 election and is actively working to ensure that the 159 county elections offices are ready to serve all Georgians. Last year, Georgia was recognized as the #1 state for Election Integrity, and continues to serve Georgia with safe, secure, and accessible elections.
