The Fayette County Education Foundation is making sure new teachers are ready to start their careers in Fayette on a good note. Continuing an annual tradition, the Education Foundation gave each new teacher a $25 gift card at the New Teacher Induction summit.

Along with receiving the Amazon gift cards, the teachers were asked to support the Foundation’s mission, with more than 130 participants signing up for at least the Buck-A-Month Club where one dollar a month is automatically deducted and donated to the Foundation. 

The Foundation uses tax-deductible gifts to provide funds and opportunities above and beyond the normal operating budget of the school system, and 100 percent of donations are returned to classrooms. 

The Fayette County Education Foundation has awarded well over $200,000 in teacher grants since 2002.
