Georgia Department of Economic Development Names Two New Team Members

Georgia Department of Economic Development leaders have announced the addition of two new team members. Christy Bozeman joins the state’s economic development marketing agency as the Region 8 Existing Industry & Regional Recruitment project manager. Kimberlyn Daniel will serve as a statewide project manager with the Corporate Solutions & Cyber Security team. The Chason Group led the talent searches for the state’s economic development organization.
In Region 8, Bozeman will be responsible for business development efforts targeting existing companies and prospective businesses in the 16-county area. Specific assignments will include assisting existing Georgia companies with facility and workforce expansions in partnership with state, local, and other economic development organizations.
The native south Georgian began her career as economic development coordinator for the
Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce. She worked extensively with the local industrial development authority on communications, marketing, and grants. In her most recent role, Bozeman served eight years as economic development coordinator for the Cordele-Crisp County Industrial Development Council. Her work with the IDC focused on business recruitment and existing industry initiatives, including workforce development.
Bozeman attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and is a graduate of the Georgia Certified Economic Developer Program, Georgia Academy of Basic Economic Development (Regions 8 and 11); Basic Economic Development Course (Georgia Tech); and Locate South GeorgiaLEADS.
Daniel joins GDEcD as a new graduate of the University of Georgia’s Master of Public Administration program. She earned her undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University. During her college years, she served as a communications and scheduling intern in the Washington DC office of the late US Senator Johnny Isakson.
A native of Elberton, Georgia, Daniel will focus on corporate solutions for businesses considering Georgia for an expansion or future location as well cyber security and office-based projects. She will be responsible for identifying the needs of interested businesses in terms of location, space, investment, and supply chain. In partnership with local communities, she will work to promote existing buildings and sites across the state.
At GSU, Daniel was active in the Chi Omega Nu Kappa Chapter. During her years in Athens attending graduate school, she worked extensively with Lydia’s Place.
Both of the new project managers started their GDEcD positions on May 16.
GDEcD engaged The Chason Group to lead the talent search process. The firm specializes in executive searches for economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, destination marketing organizations, foundations, and other non-profits.
