Eye Consultants of Atlanta –the largest ophthalmology practice in Georgia– recently expanded its efforts by opening a new pediatric ophthalmology location in Fayetteville to meet the needs of the community. Drs. Kevin Budman, Shivani Sethi, and Marc Greenberg are now seeing patients.
Located near an Eye Consultants of Atlanta optical shop and a mile from Piedmont Fayette Hospital, this unique location allows patients from southern Georgia to easily access pediatric ophthalmology care without having to face Atlanta traffic. The Fayetteville office offers all types of neonatal and pediatric services, from routine failed vision screening exams to complex surgical care. The new Fayetteville office also offers treatment of adult patients with strabismus.
“What makes this office different is that it was built with children in mind,” says Dr. Kevin Budman, a leading ophthalmologist at the Fayetteville office. “Some of the eye exam equipment at an adult eye doctor can appear scary to a child. We have pediatric-friendly equipment in Fayetteville that is more portable and does not require the child to get in an awkward position to use.”
The Fayetteville pediatrics office has three board-certified pediatric ophthalmologists to meet the patients’ needs. Additionally, the office includes five exam rooms, spacious dilation and waiting areas, and new state-of-the-art machines such as an iCare (for eye pressure checks), portable slit lamps, and ultrasound machines for eye evaluations. There is also an optical shop specializing in pediatric eyeglass fittings on the campus.
“We are here for the community for all sorts of eye problems,” says Dr. Shivani Sethi, who was trained at the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. “And with one of the largest networks of pediatric ophthalmologists in the state, trust me – we’ve seen it all. Our group is lucky to have such an experienced group of surgeons.”
