Sprouts Supports Flat Rock Food Forest

Flat Rock Middle’s Food Forest is getting a boost thanks to a generous contribution from Sprouts Farmers Market. Through the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation, the FRMS Food Forest received a $1,000 check to continue their mission.
The Eagles use the Food Forest to grow fresh food for cooking lessons, for the school cafeteria, and for donating to the community. It reinforces multidisciplinary learning and helps students learn about environmental issues and nutrition, while gaining confidence and a sense of place.
FRMS STEAM/Creativity Coordinator Sarah Thompson thanked Jamie Bisard, Sprouts Farmers Market Peachtree City Store Manager, for the generous donation.
“Because of your donation, our 8th grade girls can purchase plants to make their dream come true for a wellness walk to support students grappling with depression and anxiety, our 7th graders can build their farmers market program and pollinator garden, and our 6th graders can strengthen their school compost program,” said Thompson. “It is so wonderful to have a community partner who is just as invested in the health of its community as we are.”
