Nomination Packages Due March 25
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 Georgia District Office Awards. This year’s categories include small business champions and a young entrepreneur who have made contributions to their communities and our nation’s economy. Winners will be recognized during an award ceremony in Atlanta in late April.
2022 SBA Georgia District Office Awards
To be nominated and receive one of the following local awards, the small business nominee must fit within the category of the award, demonstrate success in business and complete and submit the required nomination package information electronically by 11:59 p.m. ET, March 25, 2022. Submission details are listed after the category descriptions below.
Minority Small Business Champion of the Year: An individual who has fulfilled a commitment to the advancement of small business opportunities for minority business owners may be nominated or a minority-owned small business owner has experienced the rewards and difficulties of owning their own business. Champion nominees may or may not be small business owners.
Women in Business Champion of the Year: An individual who has fulfilled a commitment to the advancement of women’s business ownership may be nominated or a women-owned small business owner who has experienced the rewards and difficulties of owning their own business. Champion nominees may or may not be small business owners.
Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year: An individual who has fulfilled a commitment to the advancement of small business opportunities for veterans of the U.S. armed forces may be nominated or a veteran small business owner who has experienced the rewards and difficulties of owning their own business. Champion nominees may or may not be veterans.
LGBTQ+ Small Business Advocate of the Year: The LGBTQ+ Business Advocate of the Year Award will recognize an individual or individuals who champion the advancement of small business opportunities for LGBTQ+ business community.
Financial Services Champion of the Year: An individual who assists small businesses through advocacy efforts to increase the usefulness and availability of accounting or financial services for small businesses may be nominated. Nominees may or may not be small business owners.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year: An individual who serves as the majority owner and operate or bear principal responsibility for operating a small business with a three-year track record, and who will not have reached the age of 30 by June 1, 2022.
What information must the nomination package contain?
All nominees are required to complete SBA Background Form 3300 and SBA District Office Awards Form 3315. Nominees should also provide a high-quality, digital photo that is at least 300 dpi; photocopies are not acceptable. Nominees may also include any additional supporting documentation deemed significant by the nominator such as letters of recommendations, nomination letter (if not self-nominated), news clips, and any other evidence. *Incomplete packages will not be accepted.

The Georgia District Office now requires all nomination packages to be submitted electronically. Please submit your completed nomination package here. It is highly encouraged you submit all documents in one file.

Nominees should submit their complete nomination package by 11:59 p.m. ET, March 25, 2022.
