Wednesday, September 1st, 2021

The Board of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development recently hosted “The Essentials,” a program centered on gaining a unique understanding of the complexities of economic and community development on the local, regional, and state levels.

Fayette County Public Schools Director of Career and Technical Education Lisa Collins and Coordinator of Work-Based Learning and Youth Apprenticeship Melanie Duncan were among the attendees of the conference.

Collins and Duncan were joined by two members of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce, CEO/President Colin Martin and Program Manager Will Garner.

Created in 1993, the Academy assembles a cross-section of experts, research-based curriculum, and resources necessary for building a vibrant economy. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs provides staff and resources to execute the program statewide. Since its inception, the Academy has provided training for thousands of Georgians.
