CTCA, UnitedHealthcare Establish New Relationship
Friday, June 19th, 2020
“Now more than ever, value-based, patient-centered oncology is paramount, and this new agreement reflects the commitment of CTCA to provide greater access to our exceptional physicians, care teams and high-quality services,” said Pat Basu, M.D., MBA, president and CEO of Cancer Treatment Centers of America. “On behalf of those patients and families seeking additional care options, we look forward to working with UnitedHealthcare and serving their members.”
CTCA and UnitedHealthcare will work together to establish a program to monitor key quality of care metrics, including appropriate follow-up with members following chemotherapy to minimize avoidable hospitalizations and ensuring members approaching the end of their cancer battles are appropriately transitioned to hospice care, if necessary. CTCA will also participate in the UnitedHealthcare Cancer Therapy Pathways Program, which promotes the use of evidence-based and cost-effective treatment regimens. More information about the program is available on UHCProvider.com.
