Two business teams at Whitewater High School placed in the top 10 of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Virtual Business Management Challenge, with one team being tapped as the best in the state.
Team Dreamville, made up of Tireq Thorne and Jalen Blevens, placed first in the state, and team RPinc, represented by Ronet Patel, Kaden Williams and Haki Wilson, took sixth place in the state.
FBLA’s Virtual Business Challenge encourages members to test their skills at managing a manufacturing business. There are two rounds of competition in which students control various combinations of management concepts such as recruiting, hiring and supervising employees; risk management; organizing floor layouts, and bidding on orders. For each round, teams are ranked based on their business’ cumulative profit after running the simulation for six virtual months.
FBLA is a nonprofit education association that prepares students for careers in business and business-related fields.
