Georgia Military College is lucky to have such a diverse group of professors across its 15 campuses, and one has been recognized for her foreign language teachings in the state of Georgia.

GMC-Fayetteville Professor, Dr. Beth-Anne Miles, was named the 2019 Foreign Language Professor of
the Year for Georgia.

Miles has had an extensive career in education but is currently an Assistant Professor and the First Year
Experience and Perspectives Department Chair for GMC-Fayetteville and Zebulon campuses. She
teaches French, Critical Thinking, and First Year Experience classes at GMC-Fayetteville and online, and
she is helping shape GMC’s Student Success Alert Program.

Dr. Naaman Pamoja, Dean of Academics at GMC-Fayetteville and GMC-Fairburn campuses, says since
Miles came on board to GMC in 2017, she’s been a positive force for the students ever since.

“As a standard, Dr. Miles goes above and beyond when teaching her French courses,” said Dr. Naaman
Pamoja, Academic Dean for GMC’s Fayetteville and Zebulon campuses. “She plans and implements a
variety of instructional strategies that are engaging for students and truly make learning French enjoyable. In particular, this level of commitment to quality instruction makes students more comfortable and confident in their ability to be successful in learning another language.”

Miles says she’s “blessed and honored” to win this award for the state of Georgia.

“I thanked God, my family, and the caring and supportive educators at Georgia Military College for
believing in me,” Miles said. “It is an honor and a privilege to be recognized. Like I tell my children,
‘whatever you do, do it with all your heart.’”

Congratulations to Dr. Beth-Anne Miles on being named Foreign Language Teacher of the Year for
Georgia!
