State Representative Lynn Smith (R-Newnan), Chairman of the House Natural Resources & Environment Committee, was recently named a Leading Lady by Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce.
“It is a privilege to be recognized by the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce in this special way,” said Rep. Smith. “The formative years serving as chair and as a member of our Chamber of Commerce helped prepare me for my role as a state representative for House District 70. As I represent my constituents here at the Capitol, I am constantly reminded of the lessons the chamber taught me. I am especially touched to be a Leading Lady among five other outstanding women that have served their communities generously.”
Rep. Smith was recently featured in the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce’s quarterly publication, Thrive. Thrive commended Rep. Smith for ten years of service on the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce and recognized her nomination and service to Coweta’s Rotary Club beginning in 1992. The magazine also highlighted Rep. Smith’s various legislative initiatives that led to funding for the local campuses for West Georgia Technical College and the University of West Georgia, the Brown’s Mill Battlefield Historic Site, Chattahoochee Bend State Park and the Central Educational Center.
