Earlier this year new administrators were announced for Braelinn, North Fayette and Spring Hill Elementary schools. Now, two high schools will have new principals for the 2018-2019 school year as more administrative changes have been approved by the Fayette County Board of Education, including the naming of a new assistant superintendent of student achievement.
Meeting in called session on May 31, the board approved following reclassifications:
Dr. Dan Lane, principal of Fayette County High School, will become the new principal at McIntosh High School, replacing Lisa Fine who retired at the end of the school year. Replacing Lane at Fayette County High School will be Whitewater High School assistant principal Yolanda Briggs-Johnson. Joining her as an assistant principal at the school will be Mark Henderson, who has previously served as the school system’s mathematics coordinator.
Dr. Julie Turner, principal at Kedron Elementary, will replace Dr. Terry Oatts as the assistant superintendent of student achievement. Dr. Oatts left the school system after being hired by Rockdale County Public Schools as their new school superintendent.
Fayette County High School assistant principal Brandi Johnson will replace Briggs-Johnson as an assistant principal at Whitewater High School, and Starr’s Mill High assistant principal Debra Troutman will take Henderson’s place as the school system’s math coordinator. Brandi Meeks, assistant principal at Starr’s Mill High, will move into Troutman’s position at the school.
