Governor Nathan Deal recently announced appointments to seven state boards, naming Fayette County Board of Education member Scott Hollowell to the Professional Standards Commission, which oversees the preparation, certification and professional conduct of certified personnel employed in Georgia public schools.

Hollowell represents District 3 on the Fayette County Board of Education. He is the owner of Hollowell Financial Group, a financial planning firm in Peachtree City.

Hollowell is also a member of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce. He sat on the boards of directors for Advo-Kids CASA and Friends of the Tyrone Library. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Ohio University and a master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He resides in Peachtree City.
