J.D. Power: Used Vehicle Wholesale Prices Drop 0.6%

In their February 2018 Used Car and Light Truck Guidelines Industry Update, analysts at J.D. Power Valuation Services note wholesale depreciation declined by an average of 0.6 percent in January. The slight dip was driven by the premium vehicle segment, which is typical for the time of year.

David Paris, executive analyst at J.D. Power Valuation Services said, "The slight dip in used vehicle prices can be attributed to the premium segment. In particular, Luxury Mid-Size Car prices fell by an average of 3.1 percent."
Paris went on to say, "As a result of the month's performance, our index slipped 0.5 percent to 114.2."
