Wednesday, January 24th, 2018

Georgia Employers’ Association (GEA) is pleased to announce that the Leadership Training for Supervisors and Team Leaders workshop series will be offered beginning February 7 in Macon. The five day, multi-module program focuses on practical skills and tools that team leaders and lead people need to succeed in today’s business environment. Full day workshop sessions are scheduled once a month through June.

“The leadership program for supervisors and team leaders is one of our most popular offerings,” states GEA Executive Director, Mike McCurdy. “It’s a comprehensive series for new managers that helps them transition into a leadership role. They learn some HR basics, but the workshops key in on valuable skills like coaching, managing conflict, and interviewing. More experienced supervisors and managers also attend to improve their performance.”

Topics for each session cover a broad range of leadership and organizational skills required for success as a supervisor or lead person, plus additional modules on recruiting, employee engagement, customer service, and communications. Attendees are encouraged to register for all five workshops, but experienced managers may want to select the sessions that will help them to sharpen specific skills or develop new abilities.

The instructor for the course is Keiko Humphries, SPHR. Ms Humphries has over 20 years experience in private industry and consulting environments. She is a versatile and effective trainer, with experience across a variety of industries including government, manufacturing, financial institutions and healthcare. Ms. Humphries is a popular trainer for GEA, facilitating multiple courses for the association each year.

Since 1981, Georgia Employers’ Association has provided a valuable resource to help Georgia businesses manage risk, develop leadership capabilities, and build an engaged workforce. GEA is a single source for training, consulting services, legal resources and other products and professional services that members need to succeed.
