Over $11,650 in Bright Ideas grants have been awarded to teachers in Fayette’s elementary, middle and high schools so that they can implement special programs and projects not covered in their schools’ budgets.
The Coweta-Fayette EMC awarded a total of 12 grants to teachers across the county for their innovative classroom ideas. Grant amounts ranged from over $480 to more than $1,460.
The following teachers received grants for 2017: Kimberly Walden, Bennett’s Mill Middle; Kathryn Floyd, Huddleston Elementary; Chris Ritts, LaFayette Education Center; Stephanie Sisk, McIntosh High; Grace Cannon, McIntosh High; Karen Eller, Oak Grove Elementary; Teri McGraw, Peeples Elementary; April DeGennaro, Peeples Elementary; JoAnn Rouse and Eric Todd, Rising Starr Middle; Gary Liu, Sandy Creek High; Amanda Lane, Sara Harp Minter Elementary; and Lisa Draper and Holly Emery, Spring Hill Elementary.
