"Our annual list of Best Companies for Veterans celebrates companies that are serious about hiring the brave individuals who have served our country," says Jodi Hon, SVP and GM of enterprise business, Monster. "We're gratified to see a continued commitment to veteran hiring across numerous industries. This year's list shows increased acknowledgement that veterans' experiences and skills are relevant beyond traditional industries like defense and aerospace, and also desired in transportation logistics, technology, financial services and more."

2017 marked the third year Monster has ranked the Best Companies for Veterans, and the list of 49 nominees was created by the following panel of experts:

  • David Coe, a U.S. Marine Corps officer and senior vice president of strategic programs at Orion International, which helps organizations attract, hire, develop and retain military talent

  • Lida Citroën, a personal branding coach who has worked with hundreds of veterans, and author of Your Next Mission: A Personal Branding Guide for the Military-to-Civilian Transition

  • Justin Constantine, retired Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, speaker and leadership consultant who serves as senior advisor to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Hiring Our Heroes Campaign. He is also a fellow with the Truman National Security Project

  • Evan Guzman, former Global Head of Military Programs and Engagement for Verizon and founder of The MiLBRAND Project, an agency dedicated to helping businesses and employers attract and retain veterans and military spouses

According to Guzman, the newest member of Monster's Best Companies for Veterans expert panel, the nominees and winners exemplify best practices in hiring, retaining and empowering U.S. veterans.

"For U.S. military veterans returning to civilian life, the transition to employment in the private sector can be challenging," Guzman said. "I am encouraged that companies are increasing their efforts to attract and retain veterans, as they can enhance any workplace with their proven skills, dedication and resourcefulness."
