Leadership Fayette Class of 2018 Announced

Staff Report From Newnan CEO

Monday, August 28th, 2017

The Fayette Chamber of Commerce has announced the Leadership Fayette Class of 2018, Fayette’s premier community leadership program for business, civic and community leaders.  For more than 30 years, the Leadership Fayette program has provided an opportunity for Fayette County’s citizens and stakeholders to better understand how our community works, build relationships with the region’s current and future leaders and be inspired to apply their talents to serve the community.

“The 2018 class of Leadership Fayette has been selected because of their diverse and well-rounded experiences and demonstrated commitment to the Fayette community,” said Carlotta Ungaro, president and CEO of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce. “The skills and knowledge they will gain over the next nine months will help shape not only their future, but Fayette County’s future as well.”

Each month from August 2017 to April 2018, the Leadership Fayette class will meet to learn about various community sectors and topics, as well as the interdependencies that connect them all together. From these sessions, the participants will gain first-hand experience and knowledge of Fayette’s strengths, challenges and the unique opportunities in today’s world.

Local, state and regional leaders will share insight, lead interactive exercises and participate in panel discussions. The class also features hands-on activities to bring a more in-depth perspective to multiple topics including: economic development, healthcare and social services, law enforcement and the justice system, education, and governance and civil discourse. At the end of the program, the class will complete a class project on civic engagement.
