Nine Fayette County Students Selected to Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra

A total of nine students from four Fayette County high schools have been selected to perform for the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra during the 2017-2018 season.

The students are Makenzie Hill, oboe, Whitewater High; Triniti Rives, clarinet, Fayette County High; Alisha Zamore, clarinet, McIntosh High; Spencer Hodge, horn, Sandy Creek High; Varun Patel, horn, Whitewater High; Errol Rhoden, III, tuba, Fayette County High; Kylie Dickinson, violin, McIntosh High; Mashu Takeda, violin, McIntosh High; and Michael Dehan, percussion, McIntosh High.

Each year, more than 300 students audition for one of 120 seats in the orchestra. Established in 1974 and celebrating 40 years of music excellence, the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra provides Atlanta’s most talented and dedicated students an outlet to perform masterworks.

The orchestra presents a three concert series each year, and members have exclusive invitations to participate in readings and master classes with top artists in the music industry.
