West Georgia’s SHRM Chapter led a collaborative effort with Columbus GA. SHRM, East Alabama SHRM. The Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce, The Opelika Chamber of Commerce and The Lagrange Chamber of Commerce to collect Regional Compensation and Benefits data for companies in the region.

The data fills a need for both companies already located in the region, as well as companies considering relocating to the region.

This effort has resulted in The SHRM Pinnacle Award being presented to the West Ga. SHRM in Washington D.C. at SHRM’s annual Leadership Conference. The Pinnacle Award is given out Honoring Outstanding Leadership and Professional Excellence in the Field of Human Resource Management, by SHRM. This is SHRM’s highest award.

Tami Poe, PHR, CP, Charles Little, SPHR, SCP, and Lorraine Allen PHD. attended the Leadership Conference representing West GA. SHRM. There were 24 finalist chapters and out of 70 applicants nationwide. West GA. SHRM was joined by only 9 other Winners Nationwide.

In addition to being the first regional compensation and benefits survey ever done, a new dynamic web based tool called Pinpoint is being used to collect all the data for the survey. Pinpoint was created by Charles Little, SPHR, SCP, of Strategic HR Partners and David Huffaker Vice President of CBIZ.
