Southwire Tools & Equipment Introduces a New Line of Hole Making Tools
Tuesday, March 1st, 2016
Just about all electrical installation jobs require a hole to be made. Southwire Tools has created a new line of hole making accessories to make the job even more efficient. The new line consists of ship auger bits, wood auger bits, flex auger bits, bi-metal hole saws, carbide tip hole cutters, step drill bits, and an adjustable can light hole saw.
Southwire's ship auger bits have a longer life when compared to leading electrician focused bits. Which means they are able to drill more holes before needing to be replaced, which should save the electrician money by having to buy bits less frequently. Southwire's step drill bits also last longer when compared to industry leading electrician focused bits as well, with double the reliable life of the nearest competitor. Southwire has also introduced a new adjustable can light hole saw with features that include black oxide blades for longevity when cutting holes in drywall and ceiling tiles, and a disc-shaped mandrel that balances the blades for stable and clean cuts.
Dan Irvin, Director of Hand Tools, notes "Our expansion into the hole making category is exciting. We are pleased with the performance improvements that our engineers designed into this first wave of new hole making tools. Third party testing confirmed what our field-testing showed and demonstrates that we are on the right path to create better performing products that help our customers be more effective at their jobs. Tradesmen are asking for products that are more durable and reliable and that is exactly what we want to provide to them."
Nic Saeger, Director of Marketing, notes "We have a hole making tool now for almost any application an electrician would encounter. We focused on speed of the cut and durability when developing this line, and are very pleased at the results."
