Two Georgia credit unions each presented $10,000 donations to their local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals this week after their videos were the top vote getters for October in the first annual Share the Love video campaign.

Georgia United Credit Union presented a $10,000 check to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Monday and on Tuesday; Health Center Credit Union gave a $10,000 check to Children's Hospital of Georgia in Augusta.

"Creating these videos has raised visibility to the good work we all do as a part of our daily business and that is a win for credit unions across the country," said CEO and President of Georgia United Credit Union Debbie Smith. "In addition to increased awareness, CU Solutions Group and Love My Credit Union Rewards are donating $105,000 to charities, which will be vital in building stronger communities."

The Share the Love contest is sponsored by CU Solutions Group/Love My Credit Union Rewards to showcase how credit unions positively impact their communities. Launched in June, the campaign awards $10,000 monthly to one credit union in each of three asset categories. The video receiving the most votes in the month earns the submitting credit union $10,000 for the charity of the credit union's choosing. More than 100,000 votes were cast in October. The contest runs through December and the results are cumulative, so although a credit union can't win a monthly contest more than once, it is still eligible to win the grand prize.

"Credit unions are all about giving back to their communities, and the tremendous response to this campaign is a reflection of that effort," said David Adams, CEO of CU Solutions Group.

Georgia United Credit Union won the Large Asset category, Health Center Credit Union the Small Asset category. United Bay Community Credit Union based out of Michigan won the Medium Asset category and chose to donate $10,000 to Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor, MI.

"We are very thankful to CU Solutions group for funding this extraordinary campaign," said Health Center Credit Union President Stacy Tallent. "We are also grateful that we have the Children's Hospital of Georgia right here in our own backyard.  The staff at the hospital does a tremendous job to help improve the lives of our kids and I am glad we were able to help raise this money for the hospital."

Monthly winners are eligible to receive the grand prize of $15,000, which will be awarded in December to the video with the most votes overall. Videos can be uploaded through December 24 and credit unions can continue to share their message and get votes for their video throughout the campaign.

"A charity donation of $10,000 can make a big difference to an organization and the people it serves," said Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Program Coordinator Brittany Wilson. "Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is excited [to be] the recipient of this generous donation. Children's relies on community support to help provide high-quality healthcare to every child."
