TAG Launches New Society
Thursday, November 5th, 2015
Following a soft launch at the end of September, the Technology Association of Georgia is pleased to announced the development of its newest society, TAG Cloud. The society hosted its first event on September 28th to a crowd of more than 100 attendees at Heritage Hall in Sandy Springs.
This special interest group, which joins the league of other groups such as TAG FinTech and TAG Health, will seek to educate and create awareness around the vibrant cloud industry in Georgia. Their first event featured a panel discussion of technology leadership from CardioMEMS, The Coca-Cola Company, Bridge2Solutions, and First Data Corporation. The group’s next event will be held on November 4th, 2015 and will feature a panel of the leading Cloud Services Providers in the state discussing organizational change.
The cloud computing market is projected to be a $270 billion dollar industry by the year 2020. Cloud computing is a way to store and access data and programs over the Internet instead of on your computer’s hard drive. This technology eliminates the physical need for in-house dedicated network attached storage hardware or server. Simply put, cloud computing can be done anywhere, anytime with a working online connection.
“Cloud computing will become more and more prominent in the technology industry in the next few years. We at TAG are very excited to be at the helm in bringing this growing industry to the forefront of innovation in Georgia. I look forward to what this society will bring,” said Tino Mantella, President and CEO of TAG.
