Google announced an Energy Impact Fund in partnership with Georgia Power to support programs that expand access for families to energy-saving technologies that will lead to lower electric bills and stronger local energy systems across Georgia.

In other states, partnerships supported through Google’s energy impact program have helped households save between $545 and $729 annually on energy bills. The $5 million fund will help scale initiatives focused on energy affordability, pre-weatherization improvements, and energy efficiency improvements for low-to-moderate-income households and community centers.

Funding will also support the expansion of community resilience hubs, helping reduce energy costs and expand access to affordable energy solutions for Georgia communities.

The initiative will be implemented in partnership with Georgia Power and builds on Google’s existing efforts to help scale energy affordability and resilience initiatives in the communities where the company operates. Community partner organizations will be announced throughout 2026 and will prioritize rural investments.

In Georgia, Google has previously partnered with Georgia Power and the City of Atlanta on programs that help homeowners reduce energy costs through weatherization and the installation of more efficient technologies. Google’s $500,000 donation in 2025 had a positive impact for nearly 170 Georgia Power customers across the state, with participating customers benefitting from pre-weatherization activities worth thousands of dollars at no cost to them, including home safety and structural repairs such as roof repair and mold remediation, and the installation of more energy-efficient technologies.

The company has committed to paying for the power its operations require and investing in infrastructure that supports a stronger grid, while protecting ratepayers. 

Specific energy affordability initiatives are currently being identified, and may include:

• Energy-efficient technology upgrades for homes and schools
• Critical weatherization and safety repairs
• Energy resilience hubs that help protect vulnerable communities during extreme weather
• Workforce training programs to prepare workers for jobs in the energy sector
