The Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership (IGEL) Board of Directors announced today the selection of its Class of 2025. These 30 outstanding leaders represent a cross-section of Georgia’s most impactful voices in academia, industry, advocacy, government and civic organizations. Members of the Class of 2025 will join a network of more than 650 alumni who have benefitted from the program’s unique, rigorous and nonpartisan, approach to environmental education and leadership.
“Since 2001, IGEL has cultivated an unparalleled network of leaders who share a commitment to Georgia’s natural resources,” said Dan Grogan, IGEL Board Chair and member of the 2011 IGEL class. “The Class of 2025 will carry forward this tradition of collaboration and learning, ensuring that diverse perspectives continue to drive innovative solutions for Georgia’s environmental challenges.
The Class of 2025 will participate in a series of four immersive sessions designed to explore the impact of environmental policies and decisions on Georgia’s natural resources, communities and organizations. From the fertile fields of Southwest Georgia to the waters along the coast, the IGEL program provides participants with an in-depth look at the state’s pressing environmental issues and potential for innovation. The 2025 sessions will be held in North Georgia, Southwest Georgia, Coastal Georgia and Metro Atlanta, providing participants with hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to engage with local stakeholders and experts.
Participants will develop their leadership skills, learn from dynamic speakers, leaders and panels, and engage in experiential activities that emphasize the importance of listening to and incorporating diverse perspectives. The program will begin with the first session from July 22-25, 2025, in North Georgia.
