Monday, June 28th, 2021

If you’ve ever thought you should get more involved with the school system, now is the time to jump in with the Superintendent’s Business and Community Leadership Training Program.

Whether it's serving in leadership positions in a PTO/booster club, engaging in the Superintendent's Business/Community Advisory Council, or understanding the role of the school board, this training is designed to equip leaders with critical knowledge about the Fayette County Public School System.

The program will meet for five sessions from August 2021 to January 2022 covering different topics. August 26 will tackle a district overview of programs, schools, attendance lines, and organization chart. September 23 will look at academics, including curriculum, special programs, and exceptional children. October 28 dials in on finance, specifically budget and ESPLOST. November 16 turns to governance, including what school board members do, the Board/Superintendent Leadership Team, and state/federal regulations. January 13 returns to academics to look at student achievement, as well as race, ethnicity, and other demographics.

All sessions will meet from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the boardroom at Fayette County Board of Education located at 205 LaFayette Avenue, Building A, in Fayetteville.
