Mary Norman has joined Bloom Our Youth, Inc. (D.B.A., “Bloom”) as the Director of Development and Communications. Bloom, a Fayetteville, Georgia-based nonprofit, provides services to foster children and their families in 90 counties throughout the state of Georgia.

“Bloom has a 30-year history of serving neglected and abused children in Georgia and it’s my honor to be a part of the organization’s future,” says Norman. “In the last four years, Bloom’s outreach has grown by 93%. It is only through building awareness and donor support that we can continue our growth trajectory and ensure foster children across our state will receive the care and services they need. I am excited to work with our talented and compassionate team on behalf of the children.”

As Director of Development and Communications, Norman is responsible for Bloom’s overall communication’s strategy and the engagement of corporate, individual and foundation funders to grow the organization’s ability to serve more foster children within the state.

“Mary’s wealth of nonprofit leadership experience, communications background and strategic approach to fundraising will play a vital role in Bloom’s future,” says Executive Director Becky Davenport. “In this new position, Mary will expand our awareness and support within the Metro Atlanta area and throughout Georgia. Mary joins Bloom at an important juncture for the organization as we increase our capacity to serve 50% of the children in foster care by 2021.”

Prior to joining Bloom, Norman served in executive leadership positions guiding successful fundraising teams for national nonprofits. Norman’s work includes the role of Group Vice President of Strategic Marketing Alliances with the national Arthritis Foundation in Atlanta; Senior Vice President of Development and Communications with the Jane Goodall Institute in Arlington, Virginia and Director of Development for Youth Villages in Georgia.
