Coweta Community Foundation Accepting Applications for Board Members

Staff Report From Newnan CEO

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018

The Coweta Community Foundation has announced it is now accepting applications for new board members.

The foundation board is an all-volunteer board and likes to emphasize that it is a “working board” whose members will be asked to make a significant investment of time and energy.

Board members are assigned to such committees as:

• The Grant Committee, which performs the due diligence necessary before Grant

Awards are made each year.

• The Education Committee, which oversees the group’s Nonprofit Educational Training, scheduled for June and August, as well as the Young Professionals in Philanthropy, whose next meeting is May 15.

• The Finance Committee, which oversees the organization’s budget as well as matters such as the Foundation’s audits and insurance policies.

• The Fundraising and PR Committee, which plans and publicizes the foundation’s four signature events each year – the Dr. Gerald Troutman Big Give Blood Drive in February, the Saturday Down South Sporting Clays and Southern Supper that was held April 14, and the Power of the Purse and the Farm to Table Dinner held each fall.

• The Community Service Team Committee, which supports the youth who serve in this group.

Also, board members are regularly asked to serve at foundation events and assist with pre- and post-event tasks, registration and perhaps even participate in the program itself.  Interested candidates may send a cover letter and resume to [email protected]
