Today, Governor Brian Kemp will proclaim the first-ever “Business Generosity Week” in Georgia for goBeyondProfit, its members, and other business leaders who have played a pivotal role in supporting the community through recent years. As the needs of Georgia communities increased, Georgia business stepped in to provide vital services, materials and funding, adapting business models to care for people, fellow businesses and communities.

Governor Kemp will headline a goBeyondProfit CEO Forum this morning to honor business generosity and the milestone of 1,500 goBeyondProfit members who have committed to corporate generosity and improving people’s lives since the statewide CEO alliance was created in 2018.

“We’re honored to celebrate Business Generosity Week with the Governor and fellow business leaders,” said goBeyondProfit founder and Jackson Healthcare CEO, Rick Jackson. “Seeing business step up through these catastrophic times has been particularly affirming to those of us who advocate for generosity as vital to the health of businesses and the community.”

Paul Brown, CEO of Inspire Brands, is hosting the CEO Forum at the company’s Atlanta restaurant support center. Across its brands, the Inspire Foundation raised more than $11.1 million to support youth-related organizations in 2020.

“At Inspire, we recognize the important role we play in elevating the communities we serve,” Brown said. “Our work to address childhood hunger and fuel youth success helps to create healthy communities where our team members, franchisees, and guests can thrive.”

The CEO Forum event will include a panel discussion moderated by Jackson and feature Brown as well as Chloe Barzey, Managing Director, Accenture and Kevin Warren, Executive Vice President and CMO, UPS.

“Accenture’s purpose and brand are grounded in an enduring formula for market leadership that includes embracing change, continuously transforming business and helping other businesses create value,” said Barzey. “We help drive business value and shared value because, today more than ever, doing well in business means doing well by our people and our communities.”

“At UPS, we believe our purpose is our North Star, and in so many ways that purpose takes on greater importance throughout this pandemic,” said UPS Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Kevin Warren. “We also believe there is symmetry between doing good and moving goods — fulfilling our purpose helps us deliver what matters for both our business and community stakeholders.”
