U.S. Congressman Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.) released the following statement on his assignment to the Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures, the Subcommittee on Trade, and the Subcommittee on Oversight for the House Ways and Means Committee, the chief tax-writing committee in the U.S House of Representatives.

“My focus in Congress has always been on creating jobs, building communities, and eliminating government barriers,” Ferguson said. “As our nation enters a new era, serving on the Ways and Means Committee will continue to provide me an even greater voice for advancing bold solutions to some of the most pressing issues of today.

“With my experience in the medical field, as a mayor, and a businessman for over 30 years, I am eager to continue to partner with Ranking Member Kevin Brady to be an effective advocate for the Third District, the state of Georgia, and our country. With the goal of increasing opportunity for individuals and families, growing our economy, and harnessing American competitiveness and innovation, I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.”

“Our caucus is ready to stop radical ideas that kill jobs and fight for policies that lift up all Americans,” Leader Kevin Brady (R-TX) said. “With members like Drew Ferguson on our committee, we will crush this virus and help workers, families, and small businesses rebuild the greatest economy in world history.”

The House Ways and Means Committee, the oldest committee in Congress, has jurisdiction over all taxation, trade, tariffs and other revenue-raising measures.
