Lane Closure on Georgia 154 at George Coggin Road for Paving, Starts Today

Staff Report From Newnan CEO

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019

Road construction crews will close a single lane of Georgia 154 at George Coggin Road and Springwater Chase starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Apr. 3 and extending through Friday, Apr. 5, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.

Workers will be milling the roadway and paving with new asphalt. Signage will be used to alert motorists to the work zone. As the road is one lane in each direction, signal flaggers will direct groups of vehicles in an orderly fashion through the area on the single usable lane. It is anticipated that there will be heavy delays, so drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes. For alternate routes, call Georgia 511 or check the free Georgia 511 app.

Motorists are urged to be patient and alert to any sudden change in traffic while waiting or driving through the work zone.

The work is part of a project to install new left turn lanes onto Georgia 154.

When: Wednesday, Apr. 3 through Friday, Apr. 5, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day
