Newnan Writing Event Scheduled for November 1st

This November 1st, writing professionals from the University of West Georgia will be arriving at the Newnan Center to work with local businesses and schools on writing issues of all kinds.  

Session 1: Writing Repair Café from 1pm-3pm  

From 1-3 pm, a WRITING REPAIR CAFE will welcome you and your professional emails, memos, white papers, grants, blogs, speeches, articles, technical guides and more! Whether it's a sentence or a website, experienced professional writing experts can help you and your project become clearer and more persuasive. Join us for a coffee!  

Session 2: Night Writer 5pm-7pm  

From 5-7 pm, NIGHT WRITER will bring together high school teachers and college writing instructors for a team-taught seminar on how to teach writing. Faculty will include professors of composition, creative writing, business writing, and criticism.  

UWG Writing Faculty to include:  

Professor Crystal Shelnutt, MBA, nationally-recognized expert in professional/technical writing and business communication  

Dr. Emily Hipchen, experienced publisher of international journals, editing professional, and highly published creative writer in multiple genres  

Dr. Meg Pearson, department chair, literary critic, and experienced marketing & publicity writing consultant for non-profits of all sizes  

Professor Aaron Bremeyer, Assistant Director of the University Writing Center and master teacher of writing  

Professor Julie Steele, writing instructor, tutor, and experienced community outreach professional
