Resurfacing to Begin Monday on State Route 54 in Fayette

Monday, April 30, crews with E.R. Snell will begin resurfacing 12.9 miles of State Route 54 (SR 54).

This project was awarded in November of 2017 and has a scheduled completion date of August 31, 2018. This project begins at the Coweta county line and ends at McDonough Road, east of Fayetteville. This project was scheduled for resurfacing due to the deterioration of the existing pavement.

Lane closures will occur in the evenings and overnight Monday through Saturday, 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Work is expected to begin near the intersection of SR 54 and SR 74 on the eastbound turning lanes.

This project represents an investment of $14.1 million in resurfacing in Fayette county.

Exact dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, pay attention and watch for workers.
