Staff Report From Newnan CEO

Monday, February 12th, 2018

Three local notables from the nonprofit world in Coweta will lead a panel discussion at our quarterly meeting of the Young Professionals in Philanthropy, a joint project of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber and the Coweta Community Foundation.

The YPIPs will hear from Dr. Kay Crosby, founder of the Samaritan Clinic, who was recently named the 2018 Citizen of the Year; Lauren Odom, executive director of the Newnan/Coweta Boys & Girls Club, which in January was named the Coweta Community Foundation’s 2018 Nonprofit of the Year; and Dr. David Gregory, executive director of One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach, which recently was named recipient of a $10,000 grant from 100 Women Who Care Coweta County. They will speak about the need for young professionals to become involved in nonprofits, the steps to become involved and potentially join the board of a nonprofit, and what nonprofits are looking for in board members.

This meeting will be Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Howard Warner Boys & Girls Club, 55 Savannah Street in Newnan. For more information, please call 770-253-2270 or email [email protected].
