Halloween Cancer Run Set at ECHS

East Coweta High School will host a celebration of Halloween while supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s efforts to end childhood cancer on Oct. 28.

The Coweta Halloween Run, sponsored by the Cross Country Booster Club and the Interclub Council, ECHS’ service committee, will take place from 5-8 p.m. The event aims to raise funds for St. Jude’s as well as awareness about childhood cancer.

Participants are encouraged to wear family-friendly costumes during the run. A costume contest and raffle will follow the run, with music, food, games and other festivities also planned.

Gates open at Shoemake Stadium at 3 p.m. Opening ceremonies begin at 5 p.m., with warmup at 5:10. The 5K run begins at 5:20. Children’s 100-meter dash will begin at 6:20 and the one-mile event at 6:45.

Online registration requires a $3.95 transaction fee, which is waived for in-person registration. T-shirts are included in the registration fee.
