College Endowments Didn’t Grow at Rate of Dow Jones Industrial Average

Although the Dow Jones Industrial Average grew by 13 percent in 2016, college endowments didn’t match that, and overall had a negative rate of return of about minus 2 percent, according to a recent article in the Chronicle of Higher Education.
